Every person is unique with their own story, their own song, their own life. Each has their own family, home, friends, community. Where you came from, what you have overcome and endured, all make you the unique person you are. When you find it is time to write a different chapter, change your song, or take your life in a different direction, I feel honored and privileged to listen to you. Being sensitive to pain that people live and passionate about supporting healing has been a foundation in my life.

During our time together, I will strive to be an empathic, gentle, kind, honest, and sometimes challenging listener and therapist, who will help create an emotionally safe space for you to become the you you want to be. I believe teaming with you is the best way to assist as you work toward your goals. I will listen to your life stories, be with you as you decide the direction you want your life to take. I will make suggestions during our time together to mull over until our next session and use my clinical skills to facilitate your journey of becoming more aware. We can’t change the past chapters of your life, but together we can explore possibilities for you to imagine new chapters in your story.

I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Family Therapist with over 40 years of counseling experience in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from private practice to nonprofit work with school system, homeless teens child welfare and foster care, and mediation with individuals and groups. I believe you will find me respectful of who you are and what you’ve experienced. I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families of all configurations and have seen clients from age 3 to 93. I have sat with and listened to folks who vary in their sexual orientation, their religious (or non-religious) background, their racial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and even their relationships to their fur babies.

I work in an intuitive, supportive and eclectic manner with skills drawn from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Recovery, spiritual considerations and other counseling modalities. I also take inspiration from advanced training/certification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Trauma Recovery, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, SoulCollage®, Structural Family Therapy, Assessment and Diagnosis, Dreamwork, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.

There is a “right time” for each person choosing to come to therapy. If this is the right time for you, I invite you to consider what I may have to offer as you consider your next chapter. I offer a free consultation to consider if we might be a good fit.
