Finding the right therapist for you is important. My style tends to be warm and soft-spoken but I can be gently confrontational when necessary. I decided to become a therapist because I deeply care about helping others in meaningful ways.
Prior to beginning my career in social services and then as a therapist, I was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years. After completing my master’s degree I went on to work in the social work field for 10 years before becoming a therapist full time. My background and personal life experiences have given me insight into how difficult life can be in such a vast variety of ways but also these experiences have cemented my belief that every person is deserving of respect, love, and a chance to realize their full potential.
I feel honored to work with my clients to that end: to help them live happier, more confident, and deeply fulfilling lives. I work with individuals ages thirteen and up. I have experience working with trauma, depression, parenting issues, life transitions, and stress. I have additional training in treating anxiety disorders and OCD. I am also trained in Brainspotting for trauma treatment. For those of you that are looking for someone who uses a particular modality, I like to make use of aspects of cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
